Got a clip? Sign in to post your own. Anyone can watch.
Continue with DiscordClips can be up to 100 MB. Most clipping apps save at very high quality, so even 30 seconds can go over.
Easiest: pick the clip anyway. If it's too big, or an iPhone .mov, a trimmer opens right here. Keep just the play, and it's shrunk to fit when you post. Any clip can be trimmed with the ✂ Trim button. If your browser can't trim, or you'd rather fix it on your PC, here are two other ways.
Plume is a free, lightweight video editor for Windows from lutzstack tools. It trims a clip and saves it as a small MP4 in a couple of minutes, and it handles .mov files too.
| Clip length | Video bitrate | File size |
|---|---|---|
| up to 30 sec | 20 Mbps | about 75 MB |
| up to 1 min | 10 Mbps | about 75 MB |
| up to 2 min | 5 Mbps | about 75 MB |
| up to 3 min | 3.5 Mbps (use 720p) | about 80 MB |
Rule of thumb: 600 divided by the clip's length in seconds gives the video bitrate in Mbps. That lands around 75 MB, with room to spare.
Don't need to trim? Use Plume's Encode tab instead: add the file, pick H.264 and the bitrate from the table, and click Encode.
